Henry Allen Brown

Officer Henry Brown was killed after being struck by a vehicle as he was assisting a disabled motorist on Interstate 20.

Officer Brown stopped to assist the motorist in torrential rainfall and was between his cruiser and her car when his cruiser was rear-ended, pinning him and the motorist in between the two vehicles. He died later at the hospital. The motorist survived with minor injuries.

Officer Brown was a Texas Army National Guard veteran andserved six years with the Dallas Police Department and received 35 commendations. He is survived by his wife and 7-year-old son.

Officer Henry Allen Brown was transferring to my US Army Reserve unit from the National Guard. We were understandably shocked when we saw the news report about the accident and we realized he was "our" Officer Brown. I helped recruit him to our unit and though we were not close friends, I think of him often, especially when driving by where the accident occured. Often wondered about his family and his now grown son. Rest easy soldier
