Everett A. Barber

Sergeant Everett Barber was struck and killed by a train while walking on the West Basin Drawbridge in San Pedro as he was directing a motorman across the bridge.

He was transported to the Georgia Street Hospital, where he died from his injuries the next day.

Sergeant Barber had served with the Los Angeles Police Department for 18 years. He was survived by his wife and son.
