He told me many stories of his NYPD career but I remember this LODD as a liquor store robbery. The perp was either an off duty NYPD cop or former cop. Not sure. The name Ace Parker comes to mind. He was apprehended on the Henry Hudson parkway and retirned to the scene under NYPD escort. There was a witness to the shooting who was deaf and when the perp was brought back to the scene he was able to identify him through sign language. My dad passed in 2020 and I may have this one mixed up but I think it’s accurate. My dad always remembered the fallen and remembered Officer Wiiloughby and this story always stuck with me. RIP Officer Willoughby
