Policeman Donald Tisdale was killed in a motorcycle crash while pursuing a speeder at Anaheim Street and Alameda Boulevard.

Policeman Tisdale was driving west on Anheim Street when a truck turned left in front of him at Alameda Boulevard. He was dragged almost 15 feet under the truck until it stopped. Policeman Tisdale was transported to Seaside Hospital, where he succumbed to his head injuries at 8:40 p.m.

The driver was cited for failure to renew his chauffeur's license.

Policeman Tisdale had served with the Los Angeles Police Department for at least seven years. He was survived by his wife and two sons.
