Policeman Frank Arthur was killed in a single-vehicle crash while in pursuit of a robbery suspect.
His patrol vehicle skidded on the rain-slick road and crashed into trees. The constable in the patrol car was also injured but recovered from his injuries.
He was survived by his wife.
