Deputy Sheriff Neil Simpkins was shot and killed in Idaho Falls while attempting to serve a warrant on a man for violating the liquor law.
The suspect was apprehended, convicted of second-degree murder, and sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison. He was paroled in 1930.
Deputy Simpkins was survived by his wife and 11 children.
