Agent Clifford Roberts was killed when his department vehicle was struck by a train on Portland Avenue near the State Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Agent Roberts was a United States Army Air Corps World War II veteran and had served with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation for nine years. He had previously served with the Oklahoma City Police Department. He was survived by his wife, son, mother, and brother.

I just want to say that I remember you well! You were close friend of my Dad and family a long time Friend Of my dad’s.. even now at my age I remember good things about you and I remember you well! It was a shock that day that you passed because we all knew that you went that way all the time and you knew the train schedule.. We never understood what happened! But you are a hero and I remember! Thank you for your service.. you were kind of like a legend in our family! Always remembering!
