Lester E. Reid

Deputy Sheriff Lester Reid was killed in a vehicle crash while on patrol during a winter storm near Bowling Green.

Deputy Reid and another deputy were driving on U.S. 68 near the junction with the Green River Parkway when the patrol car skidded. A tractor-trailer tried to avoid the skidding patrol vehicle and struck the side of the car. Deputy Reid suffered life-ending injuries. The other deputy was transported to Bowling Green Hospital with minor injuries.

Deputy Reid was a United States Army veteran and had served with the Warren County Sheriff's Department for three years. He was survived by his wife and two children.

On today, the 46th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
