Trooper Kenneth Maloney was killed en route to investigate a vehicle crash on State Route 68 at 1:36 am.
Trooper Maloney was heading northbound. The truck traveling southbound and the cruiser sideswiped each other. The truck's passengers were treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released. No charges were filed.
Trooper Maloney had served with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for six years and was assigned to the Georgetown Post. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter, and parents.
