Corporal Carl Norris was killed when his cruiser was struck by a tractor trailer in the 1400 block of North Stemmons Freeway

He was working the scene of a four car accident and was sitting in his cruiser at the time. The tractor trailer swerved to avoid the traffic backup and clipped the police car, spinning it around. The trailer then tipped over onto the car, crushing it.

Corporal Norris had been with the Dallas Police Department for 21 years and was survived by his wife and two daughters.

This is Carla Norris, Carl Norris's youngest daughter.
It is so nice to see the posts from well-wishers, including my uncle A.L. who is now also in Heaven, and Mr. McLarty, whom I remember well but unfortunately haven't seen in years.
I'll bet few people know that my father was once (and I promise this is TRUE!)mistaken for Tennessee Ernie Ford in a doctor's office waiting room . He overheard a man say to his wife, "You know who Tennessee Ernie Ford is?"
"Sure, "she replied, "why do you ask?"
The man indicated my father (who had a mustache and a rather ample girth at the time) and told his wife, "He's sittin' over yonder." Remember, this is Texas.
