K9 Cezar was shot and killed while attempting to apprehend a robbery suspect.
Cezar was shot in the eye as he was deployed to make the apprehension. The subject was later arrested and charged with robbery and felony killing or disabling a police dog.
K9 Cezar had served with the Joplin Police Department for six years.
