K9 Bandit died as the result of heat stroke after being left in his handler's patrol car at the end of their shift.
His handler had returned home from his shift at approximately 9:00 am and forgot to remove Bandit from the patrol SUV. He discovered Bandit dead in the vehicle at approximately 10:00 pm that evening.
