Reflections for Police Officer William Coleman Cook

The days, hours and weeks seem to be fleeting. Months and decades ago you performed marvelously on behalf of Dade County, Officer Cook, cornering the courage and the mantras of morals and values that only heroically honest and dignified angels of humility and heroism possess. Reserved and resilient, resolute and righteous, your journeys here on this planet were sadly finished by the evil impulses of a callous man, true coward whose face and life were vile and senseless. Diligent and devoted, your beloved family members pay your soul of wisdom, Officer Cook, all the respects and reverence that shall pass your direction. Your trails and compass always faced the proper path at every second. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

The slightest opening, misjudgement or miscalculation could spell doom. That is all violence needs to wreak havoc. Sad but true and no matter how honest, dignified and loyal you are character and integrity are not always enough to see your missions through. You did everything right, Officer Cook, that fatefully awful day and everyday living as a humble hero whose heart and peaceful pursuits have been blessed and rewarded accordingly. Heaven is where angels of bravery fly, soar and guard those pearliest of gates. You'll forever be saluted and paid bountiful homage for installing faith, hope and goodwill in humanity that continues to be absent today. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

You sheltered, saved and were decent and deserving of more time and life, Officer Cook, for having given your soul and heart of gold for six years to the people of Dade County. One afternoon just before finishing your assigned shift chaos from one disturbed fellow breaks loose, you go and answer that final call with your partner that day sacrificing everything for a spirit of peace in mind. The lost and found department is that heavenly sphere where greatness and honorable virtue is heroically rewarded, praised and blessed in abundance. The circle of life continues for all families who strive to follow in their loved ones trails of serenity and resolve. It was the only way to function and to perform smartly for Dade County, Officer Cook, you required your entire arsenal of acumen, astuteness and awareness neve bogged down by insufficiency of dignity, integrity and the fundamental cornerstones of excellence in conviction, commitment and its endearing character. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.
