I guess I could say thank God for modern technology, namely computers. I'm not as computer literate as you may think, Officer Cook, for it was my lovely wife, Holly, who introduced me to this age and from time to time looks at my reflections I leave for you. She calls them blogs. To me they are level headed and honest opinions most based on facts that sustained your life and career, Officer Cook. One young man's mission of dignity and integrity was your calling card and you answered all your assignments with alacrity, clarity and poignant perseverance. It took a lot, hard work, training and planning, in the end you were able to shape and make things happen in Dade County. Peace and liberty came about through your vigilance and valor. It renewed the hopes and aspirations of all. Keep observing us, Officer Cook, as you rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Your legacy will magnify that which we cannot see too clearly. Trust, faith and hope were some of the many foundations of your well lived life and a police career destined for more accomplishments. God directs this world. He knows what needs to be done and how to clean up after such tragic events that have rocked us. It can't keep us down. You have to pick up the pieces and continue on as you would want us to do, Officer Cook.

The glory of God and His crown are what helps to maintain the very dignity of our lives. The expertise and honor of our beloved heroes is too what helps to sustain us. We live and cherish our lives because of the many heroes and heroines of the past. And, Officer Cook, you were this exemplary man and humane public servant. Obviously, each person deals with situations in their own way, calming and positive, cheerful and engaging were some of your many mannerisms you utilized when resolving disputes among one another. Dade County and its folks look up to the heavens by the light of the sun and the darkness of the moon at night. they see your brilliant soul aglow, giving inspiration and hope to them as you did during your six years of outstanding service to them. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Today in Nice, France terror struck again. When will this carnage, this massacre of human life end? You and the many other officers brave and sure tried their hand at wiping out this travesty. History and enhancement proves this fact. Your legacy carries this eternal approval. God has His best and finest angels of bravery and courage patrolling His sacred golden streets where nothing can ever harm you. Shine on. May your soul, Officer Cook, deliver nothing but radiance and relief to the many who are seeking it. It shelters, the poor, the downtrodden, whomever needs comfort let them enter and find peace and dignity there at the doors to greet them.

I know, Officer Cook, if you were with us today and with your loving family, you would be appalled by this very violence that took you from our midst many years ago. You delivered peace and prosperity and gave new meaning to what go old fashioned honesty, integrity and dignity was and is all about. Diabolical and devious is what evil is about and how it lurks and can prey on others and sway them from a proper path. Each officer approaches this differently when in reality their mannerisms and and ethics carry great weight into how they can begin to solve and resolve any issues that crop up from this monster. Dade County citizens felt the blankets of trust and peace that you spread over them. Forever can they be assured of those enhancements brought about through your heroism and valor. A uniform, badge worn professionally, a message loud and straight forward. Those who carry on today do so with heavy hearts, knowing full well they too have awesome burdens to shoulder. One gentleman's mission of leadership, calm and appreciation, backed by humility and respect towards all mankind. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Your talents, Officer Cook, were of a loving and treasured reverence to those who battled this force of evil with you on a daily basis. You are missed very much. Though, humanity is grateful for all your efforts.

Hi Mrs. Cook. As I leave this reflection for your humble and most heroic son, Officer William C. Cook, my wife and I hope and will continue to pray for your good health and peace that allows you to enjoy your life out in San Diego. I'm sorry I never had the chance to meet you , but I still have that very special letter you wrote to me when I was living in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Your son was the ever present resourceful officer of dignity, honesty and integrity and for what has transpired here in the United States, especially last week in Dallas, Texas. All honest officers are to be commended for doing a job, in which a thank you, a polite courtesy is not always around the corner so to speak. Officer Cook, justly and most judiciously kept his affirmation in keeping Dade County and its residents safe and protected. Never any doubt. never wavering. Undying commitment to excellence and the pride that was worn on his uniform and badge each day to work. You can laugh. You can cry. When it came to serious business, the loyalty and heart, devotion and determination were always front and center. Now, thirty-seven years later, my neighbor, friend and hero, your life, dreams, achievements during your professional career have been so honored and saluted. Your grace, gallantry and courage have been remembered as much as your sacrifice that has kept enhancements on the front burner, as well as your legacy, the cornerstones of ethical conduct displayed at all times and the common sense and keen vision which is always a part of any officer's repertoire. Rest in peace. Maybe one day we can travel out to San Diego to meet, greet and share a cup of tea together and catch up on the times we both spent in North Miami Beach, Florida. Our families have, rather share some common bonds, as you may or may not know my dad, Owen C. Davis, may he too rest in peace along with your son, was a former New York City Police Officer for thirty-eight years. he served and preserved from the 1920's until 1966. Take care. God bless you and your wonderful family, Mrs. Cook.

From entertainment venues to courthouses, it seems these days and past several months that violence finds its entrance. Just why? We relax and attempt to go on with our daily routines and businesses, but that enemy lurks. The people behind this insanity obviously have problems, tormented, demented, whatever, one day peace shall rise above the ruins. Wanton evil will be eliminated. Officer Cook, you had the right philosophies to be able to concentrate and to handle the rigors of your professional position. At least you were calm, you maintained a semblance of order, peace and decency among all Dade County residents. Your honesty was through and through crystal clear as was your integrity and persevering ways. With all that has transpired lately here and abroad, at least most officers uphold the creed behind the affirmations they assume as they don their uniforms and badges rightfully.
