Rest in peace brother… the agency hurts without you. You were the best man I knew, on the job and family man. First time I had the pleasure of meeting you as a recruit you treated me with respect, I never meant anyone as loving and caring as you, so many other people in the agency say the same. We will miss you brother.

Sergeant Diaz, a police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your 12 years of commitment to law enforcement, your family, and the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!

Again this family of LEO's and their loved ones come together to shed tears and and words of comfort for the family and colleagues of Charlotte Sheriffs Department for the murder of Sergeant Elio Diaz. A selfless Hero, a Child of God. Over eleven years of distinguished and vigilant service to his community. A life of valor that has led to a memorable legacy for his children and future LEO's to emulate.
A senseless death that hits our family deeply. There are no answers that can excuse this loss of another Officer. I can only encourage this proud Blue Line Family to say his name often. To tell his story, his conquests, his way of interacting with subjects, his jokes. Keep his memory alive so that he is never forgotten, for he is you and you are him. Our country's Heroes. I pray for comforting thoughts and blessings for the Diaz family and for all Law Enforcement Officers keeping us safe. Amen.
