Elio, you were my friend and coworker for many years. You were a special man who was always polite and professional and treated everyone with dignity. You were one of the best cops I’ve ever worked with and I am heartbroken over this. I will remember you till we meet again, till Valhalla my brother.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Heavenly Father, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Sergeant Elio Diaz of the Charlotte County FL Sheriff's Office, was suddenly and violently taken from us; Shot & Killed in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the cross. I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, and by His authority. Amen.
God's Mission for America's Peace Officers:
"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose." (Romans 13: 3-4 TLB)
God's Word of Support, Comfort, and Hope:
"Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called God's children."
(Matthew 5:9 GW);
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, "Whom will I send? Who will go for us?" I said, "Here I am. Send me!" (Isaiah 6:8 GW);
"The greatest love you can show is to give your life for your friends."
(John 15:13 GW), and;
"Blessed are those who mourn. They will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4 GW).
