I really wished, Officer Cook, that your family and my could have met one another what a shame and absolutely terrible tragedy. To be taken from everyone and this world at such a young age with many more years, decades to live and to thrive and to think you and your beloved Karen would have celebrated your 50th anniversary sometime in 2025. Wow! Dade County was patrolled by a first class man, a gentleman of compassion, politeness, morals and very excellent and high standard professionalism befitting a public servant. Honor, respect, dignity and integrity so morally profound and vital to the purposeful causes of peace, stability and of course safe havens for the citizens to travel. Character, commitment and convictions that enhanced, uplifted and surely enriched the landscapes of your beloved community where you continue to be greatly missed but never forgotten. That day of may 19,1979, Officer Cook, was going to be your first weekend off instead it was very somber, terrible and awful day for your family, comrades, Dade County and the entire police nation as you were given a final Inspector's funeral for your cherished and loyal heroic actions three days earlier. Such a humble young man girded in heart and soul, the strength of a tiger whose tenacity, integrity and dignity matched your humbly blessed esteem. Never forgotten for outstanding and unselfish and unwavering character the class of your commitments and timely convictions of everything in the words of truth, trust and ferocity and may your angelic spirit rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. A great man with a dedicated legend taken way too soon before your time.
