Reflections for Police Officer William Coleman Cook

I knew of Lemon City, Brownsville, Allapattah and Liberty City, Officer Cook, so Gladesview I did not hear of even after residing here for almost fifty-five years. Seeing that you patrolled all those venues, Officer Cook, you are certain to be revered, admired and always a hero to Dade County. Badge#1664 was an example of endeavor, honesty and the bells of dignity and integrity ringing loudly. When a man gives his life and public service career in order for decency and devotion to pour in we must give back to that hero's family a thought and solemn word of thanks and gratefulness. God took that back to heaven for your proverbial beat my neighbor, friend and hero. The gates are being watched by a brave angel. Rest in peace.

At day's end when you can return peacefully to your home you realize you've done your part to keep society securer. You did that except for what happened on May 16,1979 when Dade County and the police world lost a humbly heroic warrior. So honorable and dignified, your life, Officer Cook, sadly ended.
