You will be cherished and saluted for having the distinct drive and dedication to persevere in times of trouble. Today is Veterans Day. A solemn day of remembrance in which we look back on those heroes who gave their lives for our great land. Police officers who sacrifice must too be treasured for given their beings to expose the corrupt forces of wickedness. You were that individual, Officer Cook, a man of perseverance and persuasion, a gentleman who exercised his authority the right way to broker unity and quiet for all residents of Dade County. You left a wonderful legacy of resolve, determination and desire hooked up with morals and character which you donned everyday. The uniform and badge spoke. The people saw and listened. One is when the president is incapacitated. We have laws against violence and the right of any duly sworn officer to serve and to protect. When a young man goes out on his patrol and serves the public with only humility, humbleness and integrity, then why is his life just snuffed out? All you were doing, Officer Cook, was your job. Never rude. No doubts. No selfishness. Only unwavering knowledge, vision and leadership skills to see you and those under your command through. The gain that Dade County and its citizens sought was the much needed relief and you brought them that, Officer Cook.
