Life is not a bowl of cherries. It can have pitfalls lined with peril that all respectable and reverent public servants have to navigate through in order to arrive at sanctity and harmony, peace and unity for all. Goodwill, hope and faith was brought back to the people of Dade County by your smile and honorable years with your department. Your peers who teamed with you, Officer Cook, could not have worked with a man diligent and resilient gentleman of gallantry and the character that followed your down those roads of resolve and trails of tenacity. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Forrest Gump the movie was interesting. Police work is the same but not as routine and simple. You need lots of concentration and much skill to handle the rigors of stress, duress and whatever crosses any woman or man of valor's pathways.

Show and tell is something you did in school. What does show and is quite revealing is a man's commitment and honesty to his roles in combating evil. Finality was pulled from your soul of affection way too soon, Officer Cook. You had more decency and desire than most public servants and Dade County to put it simply was well protected and served by your cunning resourcefulness, dignity and wisdom to be able to identify and locate violence. Terror puts people on edge and your vision and integrity was as your heroism , legendary and always to be saluted for its sagely advise and concern. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Warriors fall. Ferocity though never fails. It's in the blessed name of tenacity that we will solemnly look back on your legendary and very humble stature, Officer Cook, serving Dade County and bringing newer hopes and goodwill for its people. The class of decency and character never eludes those whom you worked with and assisted in this astute war over terror and bloodshed. Innocent lives were riding on the battlelines and your heroically humane deeds that day, Officer Cook, saved face and lives that might have been lost because of a young man's abandoning his morals. Just why? That answer has to come from heaven where Our Creator can give a concise and truly straightforward response. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Evil and unrest already complicate the courage of those so bold and brave who try their utmost to reel in rebellion and evil. The contentious bones of those inclined to further commit mayhem must be stopped from stretching and pushing their weight around us. You did attempt to stop a sad circumstance of domestic violence that day of May 16, 1979, Officer Cook, with all your energy and morals, integrity and dignity that you could have donned on your uniform. No matter your family and comrades have remembered their love done, "Uncle Bo," their savior and hero and Officer William Coleman Cook, Badge#1664 a truly warm and courageous young man gone back to heaven before your time . Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Buoys are the markers that are out in the ocean to signal you of something ahead. Boldness and bravery are the characteristics of officers who engage in only honorable and discreet actions when battling violence. Terror strikes a chord of trouble and a web of such wickedness that it took good people like yourself, Officer Cook, to protect the likes of Dade County's own. Because their lives and safety mattered we placed our trust and hopes in your badge of commitment and accuracy to shelter us in peace and in decency. What a man! A humble and universally respected and remembered servant of his time, your watch, Officer Cook, enabled dreams and aspirations to parade onward. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

If goodness and mercy follow us during our days, the Lord we can be certain rewards those who follow His ways and punishes those who stray from the virtuous paths of life. Your trails of tenacity, Officer Cook, pushed the spirits of Dade County's folks to a newer and more serene level of contentment. If a man of bravery and honor can comport himself with humility and diligence, why can't the rest of our world? It is hard I know but what other choices do we have? A society of morals, ethics, principles and scruples gone haywire and that surely may lead to more heartache and ruination nobody wants to be a witness to. All the words of character, commitment to pride and excellence and the commitment to deal drastically with violence were all handled expertly by you, Officer Cook. Total motivation and desire by being loyal and cherished among your peers. Police share in the onuses of self-preservation and in your loss in which you sacrificed for the enhancement and welfare of a better America. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Take heed and pay close and careful attention to those carrying out your assigned duties. Your comrade, friend and cherished peer of perseverance, resolve and resourcefulness, Officer William C. Cook, was a prideful gentleman of gallantry and of action, heroic and honorable in Dade County where he loyally served and protected our stability and reasons why we need to live essentially in quiet and in togetherness. His character and humble stature secured permanent enhancement where violence and mayhem carried out their atrocities and where he gave his total attention to the primary matters at hand. His joy was his doting family and those who m he and his beloved, Karen befriended and enjoyed quality time as a happily married couple until his life sadly came to a screeching halt all by the heinous and incomprehensible actions of Mr. Pearsall. We'll never know quite why though his plot to gun down thoughtful and wise servants was stopped by Officer Cook's colleague, Detective Donald Blocker. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Conclusions are nothing new. It is how our beginnings unwind. Does our life have humbleness and honesty? Is valor and a free spirit of happiness an accentuation? Is character and real hard working commitment just another thing or is there some seriousness being contemplated? If you put traits in your tenacity and morals into meaning, I suspect Dade County and its people were under the very watchful and guiding eyes of peace and harmony that you provided us with, Officer Cook. Undying, unwavering, no conditions, just true, faithful and determined leadership that carried all your fruitful journeys where Our Lord's destinies came calling. At the tender young age of twenty-five and very mature above others, God took you back with Him to peruse His golden and sacred paved roads where resolve and effort are perfect, no imperfections. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Parades are for happy times. They celebrate a moment of amazement, other times they are a remembrance of a loved one taken too soon. God sees and listens, He calls and we must be receptive to picking up on the other end. You answered the call, Officer Cook, on May 16, 1979, you knew the situation and distress your colleagues and citizens were in and gave your honorable life and dignified character all for the serenity of Dade County. I think that alone touches all the bases. Integrity incorporated into ingenuity, intelligence beckoning conviction, humility hovering humanely over heroism, all deeply and wonderfully respected and admired. You were a devoted and dedicated soul, Officer Cook. Everyone salutes your unwavering actions. God bless you! Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

As I look back at so many pictures of fallen officers, it's always why were they taken? Some way too young, other older grizzled veterans, they all had the genes of gallantry, humility and honor whenever they went out seeking peace just as you so humbly did on behalf of Dade County's residents. Officer Cook. It won't bring you back to your beloved family and esteemed comrades, but, you were a man of character, charm and personality. I had heard you could make a room fall over in laughter and yet you embraced life and loved being a police officer as dangerous a job as there is. Peril and turmoil strikes fear in my heart as well as most people's hearts. Your concern for safety and security was the best and always done smartly, with vision and proper instincts. Only courteous and kind, loyal and unselfish. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. There is more than a flicker of light coming from your wonderful soul forever in God's bluest of skies.

Dialogue is certainly better than deviousness. Destruction that can doom our world. One must be devoted and honest, focused on the nuances of dignity and integrity, most of all remain honest and centered on the extreme tasks at hand. yes, they can be challenging at times but you were a focused and cherished comrade, Officer Cook to your department. Dade County and its fine citizens won't forget your gracious and brave service to them. One that helped to avert an even bigger tragedy than what already unfolded that day of May 16, 1979. Good character and staunch commitment that when coupled with morals tends to have the direction in this never ending and constant reminder of what wickedness and terror can unleash on a community that you vigorously provided serenity and good blessings for. Suspicion underscores the benefits of doubt leaving us handcuffed and with seemingly no where left to go. At least those who act professionally know their deeds and heroism will someday travel to a higher authority and it will be Our Creator who will dish out rewards and punishments to the righteous and wicked. We have no doubt, Officer Cook, that you were a superior man of integrity and character, the honest soul of security and safe travels who toiled and sweated out those difficult moments here in Dade County serving out of love and respect. Now thirty-nine years later it has all been paid forward as you have been labeled a humble and loyal hero. No better way than to salute your fortitude and courage from within your heart of caring and compassion. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. The houses that Our Lord has designed are solely for His heroes and heroines whose valor and humility must rest and recline within those sacred walls of honor and esteem.

Capturing culprits who commit terror and violence is never an easy or sure thing. For as clever as they think they are, public servants must act more cleverly and try to stay ten steps ahead. Hard to accomplish and particularly in Dade County a large spread out venue. But, you did your part of protecting and preserving life and property, Officer Cook. A gallant and graceful man of devout faith, total integrity, honor and dignity which of course allowed you the ample opportunity to chase down evil, seeking peace for us and the transmissions of tenacity whenever you patrolled. Heaven has a most uniquely humble and solid citizen walking that proverbial beat where you character has been instrumental in observing those brave souls who have taken the baton and of course your family and professional comrades of loyalty and devotion. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.
