Reflections for Police Officer David Rose
Officer Rose, a police officer, should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your military and 1 year of commitment to law enforcement, your family, and the DeKalb County Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!

Officer Rose and Family,
I was heartbroken to hear of your heroic action and wish to send my appreciation for your heroic service and for the tremendous sacrifice your wife and children have made. I also lost my brother who was a Salt Lake City, UT Detective and Marine SSGT Reservist who lost his life in Iraq. I will share in your family's grief and remember your service and family's sacrifice from this day forward.
I found great comfort in the following poem following my brother's death.
Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep’ by Mary Elizabeth Frye
"Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there.
I did not die"
