Words cannot begin to capture the immensity of the pain of this tragedy. Officer Rose is a hero, responding to a terrifying and unthinkable act. There is no world in which a police officer should ever have to go up against rogue civilians with automatic weapons. The bravery and courage he had in such a situation is nothing short of extraordinary.

He will be remembered in our hearts forever. This community is forever in his and his family's debt. CDC is forever in his and his family's debt.

We will never forget. I will never forget.

As a former officer, I understand the risks of our profession. To go in harms way so that others may live, but it doesn’t make it any easier to lose a brother in Blue.

End of watch Officer Rose, God bless and thank you for you service.

Thank you Officer Rose for your great sacrifice. You are a hero and your legacy will reflect just that.
As Americans, we owe you and your family a debt of gratitude that we can never repay.
I pray the Lord surrounds your family and that you overwhelmingly feel His protection, strength, peace, and love.

As a current Emory University student, I am deeply saddened to hear of David Rose’s tragic death. I am also eternally grateful for his bravery and willingness to risk his life in order to protect myself and other students. I did not know him personally, but I am confident that he will forever live as a hero in my story and the stories of so many others.

My prayers are with his family and friends, whose grief must truly feel insurmountable. There are no words to express the depth of the pain that comes from losing a loved one too soon. My prayer is that God would comfort them, provide for them, and grieve alongside of them during this terrible time.
