I just saw this and as the son of a former law enforcement officer I take this personally and was sadened as if I actually knew officer Tim. I waited with anticipation that he would survive to return to his family and his work. I too have been to a lot of police officers funerals, and each time I said I will never go to another one ever again. But, unfortunately they come and I do.
Our society would not survive without the tireless efforts that these amazing human beings go through on a day to day basis for our saftey. If there's any comfort to let you know that on the other side of the country, there's myself and many others like me that are praying for him,his family and the department and community he served. Thank you all for your service and hard work in keeping us safe, because without you ?
There wouldn't be us !..

"Somebody killed a policeman today,
And a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights,
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids
And spend alone many long nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too,
Just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
It happened in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now, his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call and gave us his all,
And a part of America died."

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Our brother that we will miss dearly. A Policeman who wanted to do the best job he could. A light and friendly face in our department. A Policeman who issued a citation and then gave the driver the money to pay the fine. Always smiling when you talked to him. A man who loved his motorcycle. Always eager to help. A man happy in our department. An administrator walked by him and asked him what he was smiling for. Timothy's answer " just glad to be here sir". Our brother who belongs to us and all Law Enforcement in this country. Our Heavenly Father called him home, for he must have very important work to do in Heaven. Thanks to our Law Enforcement brothers and sisters across this nation for your support. We couldn't have made it through this without you. We miss and honor the fallen and injured, our family. Glory to God and our Savior Jesus Christ They know Timothy by name like the rest of us. We pray our Heavenly Father and Savior comfort the family and Mom, Timothy's mother
