The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Blessed be his memory and his sacrifice may never be forgotten. Isaiah 6:8: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’”

Officer Rodarte, a police officer, should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your military and 2 years of commitment to law enforcement, your family, and the Marysville Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!

Simply giving condolences to the Wife, Child, other Family members, Friends and Colleagues is hardly sufficient to express disappointment and sadness with this tragic event.

The subsequent death of this murderous offender gives a form of finality but falls short in his facing a lifetime of shame for the cowardly act he perpetrated.

The murder of Officer Rodarte will forever be etched on the minds of those Departments, their Officers, and civilian staff who in one form or another experienced his loss.

Recognizing that a Chief’s worst nightmare is to loose an Officer in such a horrific way, my thought and prayers for the strength necessary going forward with his Department.
