Reflections for Police Officer Joshua Briese
Briese was an amazing human. Unbelievable work ethic and always had a positive attitude no matter what. I still have his goofy laugh stuck in my head.
He had been living on his own since he was 16, working and going to high school. He continued that work ethic through the remaining years of his life and brought it to the Academy.
He was and is an amazing friend. I know he'll be up there, with his dad, watching over us. He is my guardian Angel.
Yesterday, a group of us went to the Arizona Peace Officer Memorial to reminisce on the effect Briese had on all of our lives.
Briese went out, guns blazing, doing what he loved.
Briese, I know your father is proud of you and im sure is happy to have you home. Your watch is over now brother, rest easy, we've got it from here.

Yesterday was one year since you left us brother. A group of us went to the Arizona Peace Officer Memorial in Phoenix to reflect on the impact you had in all of our lives. This will be a tradition every year, I promise you will not be forgotten! We've got the watch brother. Please continue to watch over us all and keep everyone safe. I take you with me on every call, every shift and every day of my life.

You will be forever in my heart Josh not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Both you and your dad's lifes were both cut too short and way to soon. Your no longer in pain and you with our others loved ones left too soon too. I believe your standing watch over us all and cracking jokes with your dad. You both are gone but will never be forgotten and this mama will continue your mission

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and colleagues in this great time of need. I ask that we continue to think of all who are suffering from this horrible loss and lean into God for comfort and peace.
Thank You for your son, your brother and for his devotion to serve. Bless you for sharing him with us.
2Cor. 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
2Cor. 1:4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Officer Joshua Briese, I am so sorry that your last call to duty ended in such a horrible way. You went there to help, and then your life was taken. It takes a very special person
to be willing to help others, while being in dangerous situations. You were very brave. Rest in peace young officer.
