Reflections for Mounted Police Officer Francis A. Gaynor
Officer Gaynor,
On today, the 2nd anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Rest in peace Frank. It was great talking about the history of the Mounted Unit with you. No matter what, we always ended up talking about that. Thank you for all your work on researching Mounted LODD’s. Your research spearheaded the Unit’s memorial wall. Quite an achievement. Rest in peace Brother.

FRANK was a very nice guy. I met him on a Paid Detail. We both shared a common interest in Police History. I was saddened when I heard he passed away.

Heavenly Father, I pray for the families of all America’s Peace Officers who have been killed in the Line-of-Duty and I thank you for their sacrifices. Bless the lives of their families so they might find healing. Help their law enforcement departments and agencies support their families. Even though their deaths might have been senseless, make something good come out of these situations so that their departments, agencies and communities, counties, states or nation, the United States of America, in which they lived and worked, might be stronger because of their lives and their deaths. In Christ Jesus’ mighty and holy name, and by His authority, I pray. Amen.
Scripture Supporting the Law Enforcement Mission:
“So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. For the policeman [peace officer] does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don’t want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman [peace officer] is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he [the peace officer] will have you punished. He [The peace officer] is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should.” [Romans 13:2-5 TLB]
Scriptures for Support, Hope, and Comfort:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]
[Jesus Said,] “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]
And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” [Luke 23:43 ESV]
