Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

I just watched all of the body and dash cam from your passing. I am heartbroken for your family and your law enforcement family. Seeing their grief shows how much they loved you. I was on the verge of tears watching it. I am glad the jury got it right, although that won't bring you back.

To Officer Duran's sons, I am sorry you had to grow up in a matter of moments after hearing the terrible news. Be proud of your father. He is always with you and watching you. I'm sorry he will not be there for all those special moments when a father should be there. You were robbed of this joy.

To the Duran family, we owe your family a debt that can never be repaid. God Bless you all.

The Officer who initially made contact with the woman, my initial thoughts were she was the one that was driving and made up that a man had fled into the woods and couldn’t really describe him. The service is very compassionate a woman however must’ve been scared. That’s why she made up the lie. Seems like she might’ve been looking for the Thelma and Louise experience, but only got life behind bars. I don’t believe in the death penalty. She can stay in prison and rot. They should put photos of the two people that she killed and their family so she can feel remorse and regret every day of the rest of her life.

Just watched the bodycam footage on youtube and had to leave a message! We forget these officers who risk their lives everyday to protect us are just human like ourselves, yet do an incredible job! Love and respect to every single LEO and thank you for your service! Not knowing what your walking into everyday you go to work! This case showed incredible work by all at the scene and my thoughts and prays are with Officer Duran’s family and the fallen retired firefighter that also lost his life! Thank you for protecting the public and gave your life in the process! All Law enforcement officers that day did what they do best trying to save a “kidnapped” women!

Just saw the video about it, heart breaking. I'm not from US, so I just recently saw it but man is it gut wrenching, really sorry to see so many people get injured and this officers demise all because of a falls report. Sometimes life isn't fair. Hope there's more strict action on false reporters so that whenever they want to false call again they think twice. Sad to see this officer go.
