Reflections for Police Officer Ella Grace French
Officer French: Thanks for you service and sacrifice to the citizens of Chicago. I traveled to Chicago a few years ago to review your fusion center and city emergency services. I met some great officers. I applaud your willingness to serve in these times of peril. By all accounts you were an exceptional Officer. Your brother said it best--you were a caring and wonderful person. You honor all of us. Thanks for being there for all of us.

I pray for you and your fellow brothers and sisters along with your family that they will one day find peace. RIP Officer French. Your fellow brothers and sisters have the watch now. To the family of Officer French and the officers of the CPD may I express my deep sorrow for your loss.
The most startling words an officer can hear over the air are: "Officer Down!"
The risk and dedication are great as officers perform their duties knowing a time may come when they may have to pay the ultimate sacrifice. Yet they continue to serve.
Officer French will be honored and remembered for her willingness to protect and serve the people of Chicago no matter the cost.
May the Lord comfort you her family and fellow officers during this time of sorrow and loss.
