First and foremost I would like to send my condolences to the Owens family, I am truly sorry for your loss. Working as a Police Cadet at East Los Angeles College Sheriff Station, we participated in Memorial Runs honoring the great peace officers who served for the department. It was an honor participating and completing this run with my fellow peers. You were such an inspiration to the department for the hard work and dedication you had every time you put your uniform on. Being a recruit in the academy and realizing that the impact law enforcement officers have on society carries on forever, is truly amazing and I too hope to set a positive example for everyone to follow.
