I heard the news last night and I couldn't believe it. Just a few days ago we chatted and you asked me how my mom was doing, as you always did.
The good ones always leave us too early...
Thank you for keeping Mt. Arlington safe.
May you rest in peace.

Joe,
A bearhug and a great big "how are ya!" This is what I remember most, but also a fervent, attentive, and devout police officer with a heart of gold. God rest him in peace, Smitty

To all the family and friends of this fine man, I'm so sorry for your loss. I lived on Joan Ct as a child and my dad, Jack Kenna, was a Reserve Police Officer with the Mt Arlington Police Dept. I remember as a young boy seeing him in his uniform and what an influence it had on me. He was my hero and the reason I became an officer. I have a picture of him in his uniform sitting on my mantle, which I see daily. Although I have never been a member of your agency, it has always held a special place in my heart. I pray that God will comfort all of you as only He can, and encourage you to seek Him in your time of grief. Again, I am very sorry for your loss and for the loss of our brother.
