Lord, please give me the qualities to wear this Star proudly.I ask for the strength, courage and dedication to carry the symbol that has stood for law and order throughout our country.Strength to protect others, courage to do what has to be done plus dedication to my job and my community....and please Lord, through it all,..be by my side.
George, that day changed many of our lives that will be changed now forever but the one thing that helps to ease the pain of you being gone is knowing you were doing exactly what the above poem says..you were protecting your community and wearing the Sheriffs Dept.Star with much pride,I know personally how much you gave and you gave it ALL! To the Family, Friends and Co-Workers of Deputy Sheriff Griffin, I want to express my deepest sympathy in the loss of your loved one.
There's A Reason
For every pain that we must bear,
For every burden, every care,
There is a Reason.
For every grief that bows the head,
For every tear drop that is shed,
There is a Reason.
For every hurt, for every plight,
For every lonely, pain-rack night,
There is a Reason.
But if we trust God as we should,
It all will work out for our good,
For He knows the Reason.
We can't understand or know the reason, but we must put our trust in God that He knows the reason. We who have walked this path ahead of you bear your hurt and pain and will remember you in our thoughts and prayers.
God bless you, your family and Co-workers.

George... I don't know how or where to start. You are one of a kind, there was never a dull moment with you. You knew how to make others look on the brighter side of thing, always made them smile. You was always there when I needed back-up or just needed someone to talk to. For that I am very greatful. We are all better officers for having known you. You have taught us a lot.
George, Don't worry about things here for your watch is done. We will take over from here. I will always remember you.

For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Romans 13:4

Where does one begin........George, 517, you were always there to help whenever anyone called, I remember one time when I needed help, and you were there you were the first one to arrive at the scene of an accident that I was involved in and even though I don't remember how the wreck happened, I remember hearing your calming voice and you were telling me that you were there and that I was going to be ok. I will always remember that, you were good friend and I feel like it was a priviledge and a very great honor to have served with you, I am a better police officer and more important, a better person for having known you. You and your family are in our thoughts and our prayers. The watch is ours now, so rest easy my brother, you are gone, but you will never be forgotten

A Part Of America Died......
A police offier died today and part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect will be buried with him at his side.
The criminals he busted will stand up in court with counsel demanding their rights, while a widowed mother must work for her kids and spend many long, lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield too, just as if he had gone off to war; though the flags of our nation won't fly half mast, to his name they will add a gold star.
Yep, another police officer died today, in your town or in mine, while we slept in comfort behind our locked doors...a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks the beat on a dark city , and he stands at each new rookie's side; He answered the call, of himself gave his all - and part of America died.
George,
You were geniune, truely a very good man. It was an honor to know him. Your loss is felt throughout the Law Enforcement Community. Know that your family has been and will continue to be in our prayers. God Bless and RIP my friend.

Take comfort from knowing your extended law enforcement family is grieving with you.
