God Bless You Officer Cross, and your young children who are now without a father! I can never understand why it happens to Officers like you with young children. The damage that Coward did went way beyond what most people could understand. It's not supposed to happen that way but it does time and time again. And we seem to keep asking why. Your entire family at home and with APD will be in our prayers.
My hats off to the other Officers with you that took care of business!
God Speed Officer Cross. To every Officer that happens to read this post stay safe.

Ofc. Cross,
I remember your tenacity and excitement for the job when you first came out of the Academy. You were a heck of an officer, and even more impressive as a father. I couldn't believe this when I heard about it. Rest easy now though, your watch is over. God bless, and I'll see you again.

America lost another hero today. This Hero, Officer Cross, was also my Hero. As Officer Cross was also my hero, he was everybody's hero. And Heros are not forgotten. Brother Mark; what you did for America will always be remembered. You, a brave man willing to risk it all so we can sleep in peace a night. We say thank you sir, but even thank you is not enough. Rest in the hands of our Lord, and may your eternal rest be all of peace. God bless you, your family, your department and us brothers and sisters as we try to serve and protect. God's Speed Brother Mark.

Officer Cross was a regular patron at our pizzeria. He always had a smile on his face. I pray for his soul and for his wife and two children. He was a good man and I will miss seeing him.

More and more in Geogia this had became a daily event. Georgia in general has been the state of a topic for officers’ death since the beginning of the new year. It’s a sad thing that only a very brief statement was made on the six and eleven 'o’clock new about ofc. Cross, but on the other hand they pulled people out of the wood works to speak highly of the suspects. You would think the past would speak for the future and our great law maker would fulfill their ends of the bargain and create laws to protect us in law enforcement and not avenues of escape for the out right guilty. Ofc. Cross you’re tragic and sudden death will not be in vein. You will always be missed and love by those in the LE family. As you begin your new walk in a place far better than here keep your head high.

DEAR BROTHER MARK, I WAS BLESSED ENOUGH TO HAVE YOU AS A FRIEND AND I WILL FOREVER CHERISH THE BRIEF MOMENT IN TIME THAT I MADE YOUR ACQUANTANCE. FOR YOU WERE SIMPLY YOU! To my neighbors and brothers God be with you.
Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police, who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premisesof all its undesirables, look with kindly and professionaleyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgment.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores, strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences with the devil, that the police officer's lot on earth is not always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all the people. Amen.
