Another Sister sacrificing all for the job I'm sure she loved.

I know words will not ease the pain your family and co-workers feel, but do know that you will not be forgotten.

Thank you for your service and helping to "pave the way".

I met Toya when she first came on the job. She worked at headquarters before going through the academy. I can't emphasize enough on how nice she was! Always smiling and having fun. She was loved by everyone who met her.

Truly we have lost a great person in this tragedy. She will be missed sorely.

My heart and prayers go out to Latoya and her family, especially the 10 year old daughter she left behind. Also to her NOPD family. I did not know her because I work for a different dept in the NO area, but feel like I have lost a sister. Godspeed!

What a privilege it was to have known Toya during my time(s) in the 1st, and see that beautiful smile. And watching she and Summer go about their workday, and the outstanding way they handled a scene, gave us all hope for our Department's future.

How futile it is to attempt to express sympathy to her family, with her mother's recently losses or her young daughter's difficult road ahead. But I hope they know how much this city appreciates their sacrifice, and wishes it didn't happen.

And Summer, please don't lose faith. Our prayers are with you too, and we are here for you. Carry on the fine legacy.

Lt. Lindsly
NOPD

Few outside of the Law Enforment Family truly understand the sacrifice of officers and their families. To the Johnson Family, please try and find comfort in the Scriptures. All Peace Officers should remember Matthew 5;9 "Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God"
