Tony,
I can't believe it's been four years...
I remember that day like it was yesterday and the feelings and visions will be forever burned in my mind. I remember seeing your patrol car...abandoned in the middle of the street with the driver's side door left open. Something as simple as that is still one of the most haunting things I've ever seen, knowing what had played out only a short time before. Your death changed me forever and as you sit in heaven, with God and so many other valiant warrior brothers and sisters in blue, only you can understand why.

Your legacy lives on for lifetimes to come and it is one of the few things that can bring some semblance of solace in this sick and twisted world we're in. You are one of the greats and you inspire so many - more than most will ever comprehend. I never knew you personally, but I can't wait for the day we meet in heaven.

HI Tony,

You know every time I am over at the academy I walk by the wall and I stare at the EOW dates. I just looked at yours on this website and it chills me to the core of my being to know that it has already been four years today. I can remember the call and the radio traffic like it was yesterday. It amazes me how a date can spark up such vivid memories.......

Thank You for all that you have done and continue to do in so many people's lives. Thank you for reminding me that I need to get out of work, quit sucking up the OT and go home and hug my family and tell them "I Love You." See what I mean about continuing to work in people's lives.... You just touched mine AGAIN. THANK YOU!

It has been 4 yrs since Officer Zeppetella was called to Heaven. God had a plan that none of us on earth will understand until we are called ourselves. It takes a special person to become an officer. The pay isn't great, the hours stink, you aren't always respected and you will miss many holiday's & special events. On the other hand, you save countless lives, solve crime and help those in need. Best of all, once you are an officer you are a part of the law enforcement family. When my husband was hurt while on duty, I had breakfast, lunch and dinner brought to my house each day and free babysitting so I could be with my husband. I never had to pick up the phone, help was always there for me.
Rest in peace Officer Zeppetella.

I haven't written to you in a while and I just felt the need to say HI. My partners have been texting me all day while they have been up at the Memorial. I can not believe it has been so long already since I was up there honoring you. That was the last trip that I took....... It will not be the last trip that I ever take to the Memorial but wow, it seems like it was just a few months ago that we were there.....

Just wanted to let you know that you were being thought of often and especially today.......

Tomorrow is going to be a tough day for OPD, as we induct another brother up there with you. I know that you are standing beside Dan watching over everyone and saddened, as we all are, that your department suffers such a heavy loss again so soon. The academy graduation for Class 14 was last week and Larry Lasater's son was so full of energy and smiling--it reminded me so much of Jakob on the day Class 13 graduated. As much as it made me laugh to watch their antics, it also made me sad to know the loss that they, and your families as a whole, have suffered. I'm frustrated that I could not be at the Memorial this year to pay my respects but I know that you are up there with the rest of the boys, watching over everyone. You will never be forgotten and you are especially in my thoughts tomorrow. Your family is always in my prayers. Peace be with you, my brother.

Hi Tony,

Well, a vast majority of "your kids" from Class 13 have been picked up and are going through their training phases. I know that you are watching over them and protecting them. Please be with them and guide them with two of the most important things, common sense and good judgement..... I KNOW you will do your best with them....

We just hung up their Class 13 Pride Run photo below your photo and plaque on the Wall of Warriors..... It's a great photo. They made sure your Guide On was proudly displayed!

THANK YOU so much for continuing to be such a strong force and motivator in our lives.

Just wanted to let you know you are still missed. Dan's loss just made it more real all over again that you were gone. I see a lot of people wish you to rest in peace, but I know you and Dan are not like that. Heaven is a richer place for having the two of you.
