Reflections for Police Officer Benjamin Perez
Officer Perez,
May God give your family & friends the comfort, strength and courage they need to begin the long journey ahead of them. I pray that they will be there for each other & never forget you. You have given your all and now have joined the most elite force - those "killed in the line of duty". I was at Police Week in D.C. this year and was impressed to see so many officers from Chicago P.D. standing in line as the survivors left the memorial service at the Capital. Be proud to be a part of a department who represents your sacrifice in such a way. I know in May 2003, they will have many officers there to represent you. I will not always remember your name but will remember you and your family in my prayers.
