On today, the 70th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during World War II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

My dad, Stan Pelkey, was Richard's uncle... He loved Richard like a son. I was in 5th grade in summer when he was killed. I remember his wonderful and warm Pelkey smile.... Rest in peace, dear Richard.

I heard about Richard from my Grandfather Casper Clemens when I was a kid. Richard is a distant cousin of mine. I read all about this murder when I went to the New York State Police Academy for a school sponsored by the DEA. They have the weapon that was used in there museum a Winchester Rifle.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
