Reflections for Chief of Police Johnny Lee Teter

CURIOUS, I LOOKED UP THE DATE THAT I STARTED IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AS A DISPATCHER. CHIEF TETER'S MEMORIAL WAS THE ONE THAT I FOUND ON THE DAY THAT I STARTED. I HAVE ALWAYS CHASTISED MY OFFICERS FOR NOT CHECKING OUT ON THE RADIO WHEN INVOLVED IN SOMETHING OR WHEN GETTING OUT TO GET A SODA OR TAKE A BREAK. THIS IS A FINE TESTAMENT TO WHY THEY NEED TO. A KILLER WENT FREE FOR KILLING ONE OF MY GUYS, EVEN THOUGH I NEVER DISPATCHED FOR CHIEF TETER, ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ARE MY GUYS. THEY ARE MY RESPONSIBILITY. HELP ME KEEP YOU SAFE.

John, your love of law enforcement was as bright as the days sun, and your passing darken our campus for a long while. Even today you are remembered by your classmates many times each year. May God keep and protect you and yours in His sunshine forever.
