Reflections for Officer James Allen Joe

My name is Christopher James Joe. James Allen Joe was my uncle. He is my dad's brother, Cornelius Joe. I am 20 years old and will be 21 October 26. I was 4 years old when he past. I don't remember him or what he sounded like. I just wish I could have known him but it seems like he served his time and he will always be missed by me. Thinking about you uncle

Don't grieve for me for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found a peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you all the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I've savored so much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
for God wanted me now, He set me free.

Semper Fidelis....(Always Faithful)

Officer Joe...I was only 9 years old when you left this world to go to a better place. I wish you did not have to go so soon. I never knew you but my friend and mentor worked with you. i just wanted you to know that you are missed and will be never forgotten. You are not just another name carved on the DPD memorial. You are a living memory who has helped shaped this city into what it is now and I thank-you for it. Your memory and work lives on and will keep on living forever.
