Reflections for Police Officer William Coleman Cook
Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations; ask your father and he will tell you, your elders and they will relate it to you. I'm sure as a boy, Officer Cook, you spent many happy hours with your dad and mom. Asking questions is the only way to formulate learning. It surely enhanced your heart, life and productive career. May your parents rest in peace. Children are always searching for reasons, logic and the purposes behind life and its happiness and sometimes not so happy times. You dreamed and aspired to become the best, the very finest of law enforcement personnel following steps of serious contemplation to accomplish your goals. Morals and honesty were not keeping you away and neither was a lack of character, dignity and respect for leadership integrity. Dade County was surely, certainly and upstanding when you served, communicated and protected. All humble perseverance, undying and unwavering selfless commitment to reverse the tide against terror and disputes. May your soul of distinction and faithful goodwill rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. The cupboards maybe a little bare, they soon will fill up with gentle gladness and goodness as your beloved family carries on your heroic legacy. The torches may be hard to carry, God's humble winds have been guiding your spirit, Officer Cook, all these decades later.

Truth and trust are those trees of life where its branches of honor and integrity shall flourish. They spring forth so long as dignity enhances enhances one's earthliest of missions. They sustained your climbs of character and resolve, Officer Cook, as you heroically patrolled all Dade County. Mankind misses your loyalty, charm and humble charisma behind your wonderfully warm smiling face. Nearly forty-one years since you sacrificed your life so salvation and courage could march forward. It's our way of peace and prosperity that was fought for so wickedness could vanish like the thin air. Only one superb and successful young man, gifted and talented, with tremendous tenacity never giving up nor giving in to mayhem and tensions caused by one evilly lost soul. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Enhancement, endearment and enrichment are a bit easier to carry out. Enforcement is the main obstacle where impediments can cast doubt as to whether success or failure may follow. Failure obviously does tragically occur from time to time. No one wants to ever mourn a fallen comrade fulfilling their core missions. Your journeys preserving Dade County , Officer Cook, were clearly heroic and humane. So true as the last Mother's Day card you gave your mom, may she and your dad rest in peace. You never once upset or disappointed your parents. Always you and Nancy were their pride and joy. Their heroic and darling son, loyal and esteemed, cherished and well respected. Dignity and integrity never to be more saluted. A badge and a uniform donned in a pristine and proud fashion. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Trust is the humility of honor and truth is the word of dignity all men and women of integrity must devote their lives and careers to become. Fine personnel offering their lives to see security and harmony stapled together within humanity. A most thoughtful man, a most gallant gentleman fighting those battles and bridging those gaps where fair play must rule the community. Otherwise all bedlam and chaos breaks loose causing undue strife and tensions that can quickly tear down the beds of bravery and boldness. Those pillars and posts you set down, Officer Cook, heroism never to be more respected and revered forevermore. God has the tests of character and command among His most treasured flock of angels. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero.

Magnify a mature young man beyond his years with an uncanny ability to be versatile and dependable, you have all the makings of an excellent policeman. And less than five minutes can mean the difference between living or not. You were heroically focused, Officer Cook, on rescuing Dade County, its residents and your esteemed colleagues from Mr. Pearsall's wrath witnessed by many others. And tragically your dignity, honor and integrity was ripped apart by his vile and vengeful being. He had a child I believe what can we think about how the that child will grow up? Forever remembered for embracing mankind with love and pleasantries.
