A watch tells time. A compass points out your direction. Your signals never crossed, Officer Cook. Only reverence, resolve and resolution moved forward as did your intelligence, ingenuity and pure virtue. Indeed you were the consummate man of honesty, integrity and dignity who paved the way for others to follow under protecting Dade County and its residents with the same uniquely valid heroism to be saluted and forever endearing. Heaven has a most beloved angel of awareness and acumen combing the golden streets never to be disrespected or harmed by a wanton man of ill repute. Rest in peace my neighbor, friend and hero. Badge#1664 told its humane story and you, Officer Cook, displayed and demonstrated goodwill to all humanity. 2:15 pm came on May 16,1979, that was your time to continue watching over us saving the people and your fellow officers from more adversity.
