Today, this country is empty due to this tragedy in taking Deputy Hislope's life. He put himself between every one of us and danger. For that I am Eternally Grateful. Deputy Hislop, a police officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your 6 1/2-year commitment to law enforcement, to your family, and the Christian County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!

Heavenly Father, I come before You today grieved in heart over the divisions in our country, the United States of America. I grieve for every life lost to violence, regardless of color or creed. And I especially grieve this day over the senseless deaths of America’s Peace Officers whose sworn duty is to protect us from harm. Please grant comfort and hope to their families.

Lord God, we know from Paul’s Letter to the Romans, Chapter 13, that America’s Peace Officers have a sacred task, to enforce laws that protect the innocent and punish the guilty. We pray that You will protect them as they serve us. Give them wisdom, discernment, and a deep desire to serve You.

Lord God, if You are willing, please surround every American Peace Officer in our nation, the United States of America, with Your warrior angels under the command of Your warrior servant, Michael the Archangel, Your Defender and Protector Against Evil, who successfully defeated Satan and his fallen angels in heavenly battle because of his unwavering faith and courage, according to the Book of Revelation Chapter 12, to shield and protect America’s Peace Officers from harm.

We stand together in the powerful and mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ against every work of Satan intended to inflict injury and death on our protectors. May Satan’s power be thwarted, in Your mighty and holy Name, and his plans exposed by Your light.

Lord Jesus, we know that Your word teaches us that in You there is neither Jew nor Greek, neither slave nor free, neither male nor female. All superficial distinctions between us have been abolished by Your work on the cross. By Your grace and power, lead us into a new day of racial harmony in our land, a day in which Your Name is again lifted high in our nation, the United States of America, and the rule of law is honored by all.

Please grant us spiritual, political, and cultural leaders who will speak to us with Your wisdom and Your truth. Please renew us in spirit, mind, and heart that we may once again be one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!

In the mighty and holy Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and by His Power, Authority, and Sacrificial Blood, I believe and pray! Amen.

Jesus taught His Disciples: “No one has greater love than this, that someone would lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13 HCSB)

Our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Deputy Sheriff Michael Hislope and the extended law enforcement family of the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.
