Lord our God, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our brother-in-blue, Sergeant Scott Heimann, of the Hays KS Police Department, was suddenly and violently taken from us; Shot & Killed in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and comrades by the power and protection of the cross. In Christ Jesus' mighty and holy Name, and by His Authority and Sacrificial Blood, I pray! Amen.

Please find Encouragement, Comfort, and Hope from the following Scripture Verses found in God's Word:

"Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called God's children." (Matthew 5:9 GW);

"Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm. Your rod and your staff give me courage." (Psalm 23:4 GW);

"The greatest love you can show is to give your life for your friends." (John 15:13 GW), and;

"Blessed are those who mourn. They will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4 GW).

There are no words for your loss. This seems to be an all to common occurrence.

"Father God, Please be with the family, friends, fellow officers and the community. Please help them with this loss. Please give them the strength to continue and the knowledge to know that you are there for them. Please Bless the family with what they need in this darkest of hours. In your Sons name, Jesus I pray these things"

Brother - when one hurts, we all hurt. This has been a tough year for our Kansas LEOs. You did what few others ever do--you put your life on the line for a total stranger because you were emblematic of the oath you swore. You will be honored. Until Valhalla.
