Sergeant Salas, a police officer, should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your military and 34 years of commitment to law enforcement, your family, and the Spokane County Sheriff's Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!

It's with a heavy heart I write this. Though I never had the privilege to ever serve with Sgt Salas in either the Air Force or with the Sheriff's Office I do have fellow Sheriff's Deputies who have. My understanding is that if there was ever a sergeant one would want to work for it was definitely Sgt Kenneth Salas.
To the Salas family please accept my sincere condolences for your loss that's beyond imaginable.
Sheepdog, the community has taken a step back with the tragic and sudden loss. May you forever watch over us!

FOR THIS DUTY.
