Lord, please give Officer Rivera all the mercy she deserves. Give her family my love and support. Give her fellow officers, friends, department, and community my blessings and condolences. Tell her name to the world. What she fought for, what her life represented, and how she was one of many examples of people who made the ultimate sacrifice for ordinary people to sleep in bed comfortably at night. Thank you Officer Rivera for your service to the City of Chicago. I hope your family feels well and my condolences reach out. To the officers reading this reflection, engage the community with a smile, make them safer. It’s what you joined to do. God bless you, your families, and department. Amen.
