The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

On January 20, 2025, my brother Jesus “Jesse” Vargas was laid to rest, and my family is experiencing a grief that words cannot fully express. Jesse was a deputy with the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office and an agent with the U.S. Marshals Office Violent Offender Task Force. He dedicated his life to serving and protecting others with courage and honor.

Jesse fulfilled the sacred oath of law enforcement, giving his life in service to his community. His commitment and sacrifice will never be forgotten, and his legacy will forever remain in our hearts.

Heavenly Father, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Deputy Sheriff Jesus Vargas, of the Brazoria TX County Sheriff's Office, was suddenly and violently taken from us; Shot & Killed in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the cross. I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, and by His authority. Amen.

God's Mission for America's Peace Officers:

"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose." (Romans 13: 3-4 TLB)

God's Word of Support, Comfort, and Hope:

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."
(Matthew 5:9 CSB);

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord asking: Who will I send? Who will go for us? I said: Here I am. Send me. (Isaiah 6:8 CSB);

"Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and staff - they comfort me." (Psalm 23:4 CSB), and;

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4 CSB).
