I miss you so much Robert. And it hurts more and more everyday that we were not able to reconcile after our fight and then to lose you before I could ever see you again. I love you so much baby.
Your little boy looks so much like you.
I hope you are no longer in any pain whereever you are. I'd like to believe you are up in heaven watching over everyone down here
Sometimes I think I feel your spirit standing beside me and sometimes I think I hear you say that you love and miss me too.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

My Name is Pattie Eatherly and I am Robert William Sumner's mother. I want to thank all of you that have expressed your heart felt condolences and I want to let you all know that I will be praying for each and every one of you.
Robert was an exceptional human being. He had a very high IQ and loves to do so many diffy things.
I know that no parent wants to lose their child. And the immense pain that our families are e going through will probably never diminish, but out love for Robert far our weights the grief in the end. Robert touched so many lives that I believe his spirit is astonished to know how many lives he has changed in his very short 31 years on earth.

Corporal Sumner, a corrections officer should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your 8 months of commitment to law enforcement service, to your family, and to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
