Reflections for Police Officer Luis M. Huesca

Officer Huesca, I did not know you, but I grew up in your neighborhood and I remember hearing about the story. I am so sorry that your life was taken, and I really really hope that the person that did that to you suffers every day for the rest of their lives, they actually do not deserve to live. There was no reason to rob and kill someone. I had to leave Chicago because I just cannot stand what happened to the city. My stepfather was a Chicago policeman and I was actually shocked. He survived 38 years on the streets.. GOD REST YOUR LOVING SOUL

Hello Luis Huesca, you’re a man of integrity in Chicago for being honest, open-hearted, and thoughtful. As a grateful Chicago Police Department, we should remember you for your future at a mark of the first death anniversary on April 21st, 2024.

We needed to fight for change and fight for justice in Chicago, Illinois, because it had the worst unfortunate reputations of safety and security due to the effect of gun violence. No pure evil individuals should be pardoned for their offenses.

Thank you and congratulations on your service in the Chicago Police Department, for which you did an excellent job to help others. We and you will be forever missed by the sky of beautiful Chicago.

As a native of Chicago, am deeply saddened about what happened to you. What u had to go thru in your last hr here. I have so much respect for your service and what you did to try to make the city a better and safer place. You didn't deserve to die the way u did. You are wrapped in the arms of the Lord now. I think it’s extremely brave and courageous to still respond to a call while you just finished up your shift. I can only begin to have an idea about what the family was feeling my prayers are with them. It just shows that as someone new into law enforcement that I have big shoes to fill and a legacy to live up to bigger something bigger than myself

Officer Huesca, I just read about how brutally you were murdered. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. You were a good man, a young man, just going home after a shift at work. You deserved to have a peaceful rest at home, but that opportunity was taken away from you forever. I am so sorry

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
