Reflections for Police Officer Edward Perez

Papa,
I just found this website today and I'm so happy I did. The reason I found it was because I told my friend that I met at COPS camp that I had never looked up your name before. This website was the first to pop up and I sat and read every single message that people have wrote to you with tears in my eyes. This friend I made at COPS camp is one of the many I've made through the process of grieving your loss. I met them the summer after you passed and I'm truly grateful for them. They've shaped me into the young lady I am today, I hope you're proud. I'm 15 now and if you saw me, you wouldn't recognize me. I'm sure you'd be impressed with how much I've grown, how my dark my hair has gotten, and how I now have braces to fix my crooked teeth. I am in high school now, following the path you guided me and inspired me to pursue. I miss you everyday and I wish you were here to watch me grow up, but you left me in good hands, and I am forever thankful. I'll check up on you soon I promise. I love you forever.

Your daughter,
Julia

Eddy,
There are no words to express how much I miss seeing you and hearing your laugh. There is a sadness in my heart a piece of me thats missing. That piece is you. People say time heals all wounds and the feeling of loss will heal. I don’t believe that to be true. I miss you everyday and pray that you know how much we miss you and how lost we feel without you. I love you and hope to see you in my dreams. Until we meet again.
Love you,
N

Ed,

Sorry for the late reflection. Although you’re not with us in body, your memory lives strong in our hearts. Hard to believe that so many years have passed since that first day you and I sat together for lunch at the Miami Subs across the street from HQ. Now I am retired. Miss you.

Always your friend,

Jorge

The Moment that you Left Me by Doug Craven
The moment that you left me
My heart split in two
One side filled with memories
The other side died with you
I often lay awake at night
When the world is fast asleep
and take a walk down memory lane
With tears upon my cheek
Remembering you is easy
I do it everyday
But missing you is a heartache
That never goes away
I hold you tightly within my heart
And there you will remain
As my life goes on without you
But will never be the same.
