Reflections for Police Officer Tyler Avery Herndon
This young man was from Kings Mountain,NC which is where I’m from. I have kids that went to school with Officer Herndon. And my youngest son also serves now as Sheriffs Deputy, Sgt Tyler Chapman, Lincoln Co Sheriff where he has been now for several years. My son began career with Shelby PD, NC and was on duty with
K-9 Officer Tim Bracken was killed serving a warrant on a felon on Sept 10,2016. The dirt bag ambushed Bracken and shot him close range. The house where he died is almost center downtown, a block from Shelby PD Office. Those officers are faced with that spot daily much like Officer Herndons fellow officers are. As a very proud mom of a Deputy and seeing all that they face today it’s hard to think when you see these brave men and women go out daily to fight for us. They are a precious commodity and we need to be in prayer and always greet and thank these people who are our local “military” who keep our homelands safe.
To the Herndon family I say thank you and bless you for the sacrifices made by your son and your family. I live in Oak Grove area I believe near you and know your son will not be forgotten. As family of those who work to protect we are proud and know that I am proud to be part of the extended family of the officers and security and workers who put their life on the line daily.
God Bless

The Thin Blue Line is tattooed on the heart of every officer's family member. It is real. It is powerful. It is a solemn community. It brings us pride. It brings us sorrow.
This time it has brought great great heart break to our close Mount Holly community. The blue house lights and all the yard signs have been glorious to see!
RIP Officer Herndon. I pray peace for your family.

You were the one who stole the title of baby of the family from me, the one boy grandchild surrounded by girls. We love you more than I could ever express. I was always so proud of my Police Offier Cousin. Everytime I was driving through Mount Holly I was always looking for you. You knew what you wanted in life and you went for it.
I love you and I will do my best to honor you in my everyday life. Rest in peace my hero.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Semper Fi brother...A life cut short by a lawless, useless loser. May God bless you and May God see that this loser goes straight to HELL..It’s time for all good men and women to stand up for our law enforcement brothers and sisters and become the loudest advocates for justice and stop the ignorant slogan such as DEFUND our police. Stand up for our brave officers of law and stop all this anti police activity.I will always have you in my heart and May God bless your family and always know that you will be remembered. .......
