I almost couldn't stop myself from shedding tears when I heard your last message to dispatch "Tell my family I love them". RIP brother. You were taken from us way too soon.

Yet another tragic example of a hero who became an angel of heaven while serving the very people he was charged to serve, many of whom are unappreciative and even bear malice towards these very people. This is one death too many. The war on Law Enforcement Officers must stop. Now.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. ~ A. Lincoln

I remember hearing about your passing days ago on social media and I was so saddened. It was on a major day, July 4th, and you went out like the many other American heroes before you.

I've seen your wife and children through pictures. They are beautiful and your story is just the same. Immigrant ancestry, a firm belief in God, and you chose to serve your community. I hope your family, friends, and fellow officers can heal from your absence. It is so surreal to know that I'm almost your age. Nevertheless people like you make me want to get into public safety to do great things and honor everyone great in this world.

Rest easy Anthony and may we all meet you in another world someday!

Officer Dia was taken from us far too early. His death, however, has brought forth so many supporters of law enforcement in our community. Some of those afraid to speak out before. The transformation has been amazing to see. We wish law enforcement could be loved again in every community the way that we are starting to feel it again.

His last words to dispatch were “Tell my family I love them.” A sentence he repeated twice before passing. We love you too Anthony... and we will forever watch over your wife and kids.
